The Only Heaven Is Our Hearts

I‘m standing in my grandma‘s garden, staring at the stars glimmering in the deep night sky. Can‘t stop wondering: where are you, dad? Is eternity really your final destination? This boundless dark sky reminds me of our small fragile lives... I walk away and think to myself: we bury our beloved ones and the only place, where they continue to exist, is our hearts.

This painting is called The Funeral (2013).
